Did you Know that Cobá....
At its peak, it had a population of about 50,000 inhabitants and an area of eighty square kilometers. Most of the city was built in the middle of the Classic period of the Mayan civilization, between the years 500 and 900 of our era and had several temples, among which the 42-meter-high Nohoch Mul pyramid survives.Most of the inscriptions date from the 7th century and numerous evidences indicate that the construction and repair of the buildings continued, until the 14th century.

It´s Time to Discover Cobá

They were built mainly as communication routes to connect squares and temples within the main Mayan cities; Another of its functions was to maintain a social, religious, political, and economic link between large cities and the communities that depended on them, connecting them with each other. In some cases they also functioned as hydraulic routes.
